We arrange a room for the student

The learning outcomes largely depend on what conditions we provide for our child. That is why it is so important that the student’s room is conducive to both concentration while doing homework, as well as being a place for rest and fun. Today we will suggest how to arrange a room for a student who will meet these goals.

Division of space into functional zones

Before we start working on the arrangement of the room, it is worth planning 3 basic zones related to the child’s lifestyle:

  • Science
  • Rest
  • Having fun

Such a division will allow the child to fulfill his needs in an effective manner, without unnecessary disturbances. Of course, this does not mean that we have to separate such zones with a wall – a symbolic division that will be legible for a child is enough.

Learning zone

Particular attention should be paid to the learning area, which must be thought out in such a way that the child has adequate peace, quiet and comfort. It should be located away from potential noise sources, such as sounds coming from other rooms (therefore it is a good idea to separate it as far as possible from the door). A good solution is to plan this zone near the window, thanks to which the child will be able to use the natural light source during the day.

In the learning zone, there must be a desk and a comfortable, ergonomic armchair with adjustable height, backrest and armrests, thanks to which the child will be able to adjust the furniture to his height. There should be a lamp on the desk that will provide adequate light after dark.

It is also worth making sure that there are no objects in the line of sight of the child sitting at the desk that may distract him while learning. Avoid unnecessary decorations or multi-colored elements that are not conducive to concentration.

Rest area

Another zone that needs to be arranged is for the child’s rest and sleep. It should be in the darkest corner of the room, preferably away from the window. In this zone, apart from the bed, there should be a small bedside table with a lamp. You can also place a comfortable pouf or an armchair in this zone so that the child can relax during a break while listening to music or reading a book.

Fun zone

The favorite zone in a child’s room will always be the one dedicated to play. It should be arranged according to his needs, so let your toddler help in planning this place. Together, let’s choose the color and pattern of the floor covering, remembering that it should provide good adhesion and be non-slip. In the play area, there should be a small, light table with a stool where the child can play or do art work. There is also a basket and a rack for toys, a blackboard and other gadgets that can be useful while having fun.

Arranging a room for a student requires a good plan, but also an appropriate budget. If we intend to equip such a room from A to Z, we have to take into account the cost of PLN 3,000-5,000. If we temporarily lack sufficient funds to finance such an investment, quick online loans that will allow us to get the missing amount can be helpful. We just need to remember to pay off the liability on time. Thanks to this, we will avoid stress related to possible interest costs.
